Keep an Ear Out: "The Dare" & Yves Tumor: Two Unique Artists You Don’t Want to Sleep On
One of the most iconic and playful shows took place this past month - wedged in on a random Thursday night right in the heart of October. Yves Tumor brought his band of four to the Wiltern on October 12th, with explosive solo act "The Dare" as their opener. With the “spooky season” finally making its rounds again, let’s celebrate two absolutely idiosyncratic legends who are quickly capturing the hearts of both electronic and experimental-rock lovers.

Noisy, provocative, and “in your face”, rising electronic act "The Dare" immediately illuminated the stage with passionate energy and heavy synths. With a gritty, deep base foundation for his production, "The Dare" layers his grounded and playful vocals with feminine samples to fill his music with life and power. The second his blaring set started, all we wanted to do was dance and envelop ourselves in his vibrant performance. If you want to listen to something loud, unique, and honestly kind of weird, keep an eye out for the upcoming LA staple “"The Dare"”.

No one can command a room like Yves Tumor. His sensationally captivating set pulls you into a wild ocean of sound and power. Deep, electric vocals mixed with a truly vigorous and enticing production left me feeling as if I was happily drowning in his eerie creativity. Every word and breath was delivered with such intention and intrigue, it was impossible to look away when I saw him.
Pulling you through years of deeply emotional music, each song felt intensely personal, as if the entire band was opening up to connect directly with each fan. While Tumor was insanely captivating, his band truly resembled a family, persuading the crowd to let their guard down and omit their full attention to them for the entirety of their set. If you love the feel of a tight-knit band with hints of experimentation, dream-like moments, and a loose merge of genres all in one artist, definitely check out Yves Tumor. And even better, as an LA native, take advantage of seeing them live. You won’t regret it.
