Boys Soccer Team Shoutout

Shoutout to our amazing El Segundo Boys Soccer team for making it to CIF this year! We had the opportunity to interview one of the senior team captains, Liam Moore. We first asked him what some of this season’s highlights were, to which he replied, “Scoring in the 90th minute to force overtime against North Torrance and then beating them in overtime. Scoring a 90th minute goal against West to win the game. Beating Torrance 5-0.”

We also asked how this season went for the team overall. Moore said, “This season went extremely well for us. We were 10-1-1 in the league, which is the best record in the last four years for El Segundo. We did fall short of our expectations in CIF though, losing in the second round.” Moore also states that, “The future seasons will go incredibly well. Half of our starting team right now is freshmen and sophomores and our JV team went undefeated this year. Next year’s varsity team is going to be one of the best ever.”

What Moore has loved about playing for the high school’s team is, “scoring and assisting goals with my brother and teammates. I love how competitive it gets.” For anyone interested in joining soccer, you “absolutely have to try it. It is the most fun sport they will ever play and they’ll be hooked from the moment they start playing.”

Liam Moore’s message to the school is, “Thank you to the coaches Andrew and Alan Kelley, Gil, and Scott.” Follow ESHS Boys Soccer team on social media to stay updated during future seasons! (@eshs_boyssoccer)
